This evening I started working on the canopy channel.
I started by marking where the rivets are in the roll bar. The key is to find a pattern of holes that will miss as many rivets as possible. (It seems like they would have warned us of this earlier in the build process. If I had marked them when making the roll bar, I would have been mare careful with the rivet holes.)
I then transfered the marks to the channel and started work on the channel.
The plans call for changing the channel flanges from 88 degrees to 92.5 degrees. When you bend the channel flange, the channel twists out of shape. Then, by fluting, you make it sit flat.
I goofed this one up completely. So, I'll practice on the other one and order a new set from Vans.
