Removed the vertical stabilzer and then fabricated the up elevator stop.
The up elevator stop was simple to fabricate. (I used the hacksaw then the table sander to finish it off.) I marked for the three rivets that attache the center of the stop. Then, drilled them.
I spent about 30 minutes getting ready to drill the two outboard holes. Where the plans said to drill them would be too close to the longeron to get the nut and washer on. (Every way I measured it came up with the same problem.) So, I moved the forward and in just a bit. Where they ended up gives JUST enough room for the nuts. (I'm glad I spent a few minutes looking for aligators before drilling!)
TODAY, THE TEMPERATURE HOVERED BETWEEN 34 and 36 DEGREES. BURRRRR.... I can hardly wait for summer.
