I spent the morning helping our local EAA club sheetrock and tape the chapter house. In the afternoon, I dove into the wingtip lens attachment. In my first go around, I epoxied the nutplates into the wingtip. About half of them fell out when I tried installing the lens. So, I decided to try something else.
At the fiberglassing class I took, the instructor suggested pull rivets. Vans sells a tiny one that fits into the holes in a nutplate. They don't need to be structural, so I ordered a bunch.
They ended up working great.
