I spent a good chunck of time this evening checking the height of the back attachment point for the horizontal stabilizer. It ways to use an 11/32 bit between the rear spar and the aft deck to get the correct height. That's the easy part. Then, you get to check the height by measuring the distance from the deck to the tooling holes in the inboard stabilizer ribs. The measurement has to be exact... and I don't see how it is possible where the holes are.
I came up with an idea last night for checking the height... and it seems to work OK. I used a round steel rod running through the tooling holes from one side to the other. Then, I measured the height near the rib. The meaurements are extremely close... but before I drill the holes, I want to do some more checkin.
