Band-sawed off the excess foam from the VS FG tip, then brought it flush to the layup edges on the belt sander. A nice, flat, 3/8" piece of foam is in place, ready for a layer of glass on the outside and inside.
Made a reverse template of the end of the Elevator cwt horns so I could shape the excess foam on the HS tips to nest nicely with the horns. Spent a long time with the file, bandsaw, belt, and hand-sander, making up for the "mistake" of cutting the HS tips straight along their TE's, But when I hung the elevators to check the fit--DOINK! I hadn't trimmed the TE's at all!
Removed all that carefully shaped foam (grrrr), and used the Dremel to cut the tips to fit. Did a lousy job, especially on the r.h. HS tip--big uneven gaposis. I'll need to fill in with some glassed foam out the back anyway. Oh well....
