Brief Description:  Horizontal stab

Aligned drilled w/out slipping HS-908-L attach bracket. Ran the #30 drill through the slipped hole. By eye, elongation seems negligible; need to assess with a rivet.

Disassembled the front and rear spar halves, deburred the #30 drilled out holes so far on doublers and spars.

Vixen filed and Scotchbrite polished the edges of HS-908-L and -R. Pretty parts now!

Prepared HS-904 and HS-905 ribs: Deburred lightening holes, followed by Scotchbrite wheel on hole and outer edges. Needle filed the narrow tab slots where wheel can't reach, Fluted and seamed the flanges. Clecoed, marked positions, and #30 match drilled ribs to front and rear spars.

Fabricated HS-909 shims from 0.040 Alclad. Polished edges on Scotch wheel, drilled one #30 hole each shim, clecoed and clamped them to inboard ribs (removed from spar), match drilled second hole.

Disassembled rest of the ribs from the spars and deburred the rest of the drilled out #30 holes. Still need to file and polish edges of the spars and doublers. Also need to go ahead and scuff the HS-912 hinges to accept paint later.

ANSWER to AN-bolt hole sizing question from 1/13:

AN-3: drill #13 (0.185) then ream #12 (0.189). Max dia of AN-3 grip is 0.189.
AN-4: drill D (.246) then ream 1/4-undersize (0.249). Max dia of AN-4 grip is 0.249
