Brief Description: Paint and misc. on panel, fab a brace for P brake
1. With panel in position, I fabricated a brace from 3/4X1/8 flat alum bar to run from the upper end of my parking brake angle aft to the aft lower brace where a 90 degree bend in the opposite direction allows me to attach to the fwd part of the brace. This takes out all movement aft and fwd in the parking brake while moving the lever to set or release positions.
2. Marked and drilled attachment holes 3/32. Havent decided on the hardware to attach yet.
3. cleaned up the edges etc and prep for primer
4. Drilled a hole for my static line to run thru in the right side panel apron just rt of the ignition switch. Drilled it with a unibit to 7/16, deburred and inserted a plastic bushing.
5.Sanded out all the nicks and scrapes on the panel and apron face and cleaned real good with mek and naptha etc.
6. Primered the brackets, the panel apron and panel after masking off the trays
not mentioned for time: went to radio shack and got a 15-30 watt selectable soldering iron, some 60/40 resen core solder and a contraption that acts as extra hands and will hold the items needing solder in aligator clips. It also has a magnifying glass attached to see work close up....I need that!
