Removed the windscreen and laid in a paper to start the tracing of a glareshiel topper template. After the pater was close to desired shape, I transferred to a piece card paper and cut out. This will need some fine tuning before sending off to Abby at flightline for a vinal velcro on piece.
I then tranfered an edge line around the winds reen base to the bare metal after removing the vinyl and edged with electrical tape.
Sanded the glareshield area with electric sander and then finished off with scotch brite pads by hand. Cleaned well.
Masked off the interior for oversparay as well as the upperskin
Painted with two coats of self etch primer 7220 and then followed up with two coats of Tempo Aviation flat black propellar epoxy. This should be durable enough. The reason I did this was incase I decide against the vinyl top. Then Ill have something basic that I can live with.
