Brief Description:  First flight of n882RV

After 4 years and 3 months and coutless trips of 30 miles to my hanger to build, this RV8 was taken to the air and 6000 feet as well as a speedy 140 to 160 knts. I even noted a ground speed of 202 mph on this first flight;wow! Engine performed flawless, All sensors stayed in green allthough I was worried about the CHT for awile as they creeped 430 degrees briefly before decreasing back to 380. This airplane flew level hands free with no trim ever added to ailerons during the flight. Incredible. My chase plane was another rv8 piloted by a good friend and great pilot, who reassured me thru each phase and watched closely for any problems during flight. Thanks Mike!!!
After a no flap wheel landing, I takied back to hanger for picture and then decowling and engine inspection. Nothing found that required any imediate attention. It is ready for recowling and second flight. Let the remaining 39 hours of testing begin!!!! Ya Hoo!!!
