Another milestone reached! My DAR finally arrived and inspected the airplane. Inspection started off on the wrong foot when he found a loose jam nut. DANG IT! Just goes to show you that more than one set of eyes is necessary and then check it all two more times!! I simply tightened it up and moved on. The inspection went quite smooth after that. He gave me a couple suggestions but he also said they were just that and not a safety concern. So I made the note and will make a couple small fixes. Then came the paperwork to sign in triplicates and then the Phase 1 limitations which he had printed out as well as a map with my area boxed nice a nd neat. About 100 square miles is my test area and I can live with that ok. The last form was the application for repairman certificate. He actually had it filled out for me and I signed it. Hes gonna submit it and said I should get it in the mail in about 60 to 90 days. YAY! Then I wrote the check for his service and recieved the AIRWORTHY document. Noone was around at that moment to take a photo of us so I just shook his hand and later took a picture of it with the celebratory beer waiting. Now Im organizing all my paperwork and getting log books done. I also called my insurance guy to start the insurance in two weeks. We will be going with AIG which had the best rates and only required 1 hour dual before first flight. SWEET! They will accept the dual with CFI in RV6,7,or 8 so that makes it easier to find. This weekend I get to put the plane back together......Again! HA
