Brief Description: Canopy frame fitting and drill side rails
Cut some straps of aluminum to tape to the frame ribs. Need to follow natural bend from the rib to the fuselage side and rub the edge. Did this as well as double check with the metal 24 inch ruller which works nice for this. After many times of taking this off and tweeking in and out as nedded, I finally settled on what I think will work. I then taped the rails in place on each side and made sure the track roller was centered in each. Drew a center line down each rail lip. Measured for the first 2 holes, punched and drilled #40 and cleco. Check operation of the roleer and seems to be fine. Turns out that the final width of the rails is only 1/16" wider than the starting point called out in the plans. Note: the 1st hole is measured from the long part of the forward rail, not from the relief cut. Should come out beside a rivit in the f-816
alluminum strip attached to the aft frame rib. See how it touches the edge?
Adjusted the aft canopy bow to 24/32 inch. Acceptable but will fine tune to 22/32nds later
