Brief Description: Final drilling Horizontal stab to fuselage
1. Made measurements again to make sure the horizontal stab is still level and square to the fuselage. Spent considerable time on this. Once satisfied, clamped firmly in position and made accurate measurements on front Spar bottom splice angle and again tripple checked each one. Center punched and pilot drilled them with 90 degree attachment and #40 drill bit. Final drilled next to #12 but drilled up from below the deck to have room for the standard length drill bit. This worked well. Deburred the holes and bolted with AN3 bolts . Each hole was bolted before starting the next.
2.In preperation for final drilling the rear spar to attach bars that was piloted yesterday, tried to get the longitudinal level of fuse to match exactly the level obtained when level laid from front to rear spar. Cant realy do anything other than thin the shims slightly, but is 0.1 to 0.2 degrees realy woth the trouble? Think I'll leave it alone and sand the shims down some after disassembly.Spent way too much time on this. Clamp and final drill each hole to #12 and bolted as I went.
