Brief Description:  Assemble flaps

Over several sessions for both right and left flap, assembled and riveted six hinge bracket/nose rib assemblies – three for each flap. Assembled and riveted to spar inboard hinge bracket/nose assembly with space and reinforcing angle. Riveted the FL-906B bracket to inboard rib. Riveted nut plate to inside of inboard rib. Rivet inboard rib with FL-906B bracket to spar. Rivet middle hinge bracket/nose rib assembly to spar and outboard hinge bracket/nose rib assembly and rib to spar. Riveted remaining ribs to spar. Estimated time -3 hours
For both right and left flap, clecoed top skin to ribs and then nose skin and top skin to spar and nose skin to bottom spar. Clecoed nose skin to nose rib approximately every other hole. Set assemble on table top side up and weight assemble down to keep ribs flat on table top. Drilled nose rib holes to 7/64 for blind rivets except for ends and riveted in place. Put flap in saddle assembly. Riveted top main and nose skin to spar and ribs starting in the center of each nose rib skin and working out to ends of nose rib skins. Took assembly out of saddles and laid on table top skin down. Clecoed trailing edge to table using holes created when drilling the trailing edge to hold assembly flat to table top. Removed clecos holding the nose skins to bottom spar flange. Slid bottom skin between spar flange and nose skin. Clecoed every other hole and riveted skins to bottom spar flange by reaching in from trailing edge. Removed clecos from training edge, weighted flap down hold assembly flat to table. Clecoed bottom skin to ribs and drilled holes to 7/64. Using blind rivets except for outboard rib, to rivet skin to ribs. Used solid rivets with squeezer for outboard rib. Left the rear most hole open for time being to allow for more clearance when working on trailing edge. Set flaps aside to prepare for completing trailing edges for flaps and ailerons. Estimated time - 8 hours
