Brief Description:  Preparation for trailing edges

Being obsessed with obtaining a straight smooth trailing edge I proceeded as carefully as I could to rivet the training edges. The instructions recommend that the trailing edges are initially back riveted with the back rivet plate set into the table. Furthermore, I wanted to have an arrangement where the entire trailing edge for the flaps (7.5 feet long) and ailerons (4 feet long) could be weighted down and not moved or minimally moved during the process of riveting one side of the trailing edge. To accomplish this I purchased from Lowes an 1,5 inch by ¼ inch by 3 foot steel bar and routed out a six foot slot in a 2 by 8 foot ¾ sheet of MDF to set the bar in. I also routed out a place in the center of one edge of the table for my Avery back rivet plate. The six foot slot was placed to that I would be able to hang the hinge brackets off the edge of the table and keep the bottom surface flat on the table while setting the rivets against the steel bar. Estimated time – 3 hours
