Brief Description:  New Seat

Since the last post the frame has been reinstalled into the glider. This included reinstalling the wheel well and brake assembly (2 hours alone). The control stick was reinstalled and attached to the ruddervator mixier. I also reinstalled the rudder pedals and riveted the front canopy brace.back into its position. The instrument panel arrived from the waterjet and I folded the sides using the metal brake then primed it. A new wooden seat bottom was fabricated to accomodate the rudder cables and extend the front by 2 inches. The seatback was made using 3/4" dowel rods and supports cut on the jig saw. It was assembled using a finishing nailer and titebond wood glue. All wood will be coated with weather seal. The two seat sections joing together using AN3 bolts and aluminum L brackets. The entire seat weighs under 3 pounds and you can left the glider off the ground with it. The black padding consists of insulating tubes typically used in HVAC. Custom rudder cables that include turnbuckles will be installed next along with the instrument panel. Afterwards the instrument panel will be painted black and electronics will be installed.
