Well, not needed at the parachute club today and after some morning gardening work I decided to brave the heat in the workshop and see if I could do any small bits and pieces. I'm currently waiting for the canopy retaining blocks to be machined to shape for me, so canopy work is on hold. I didn't get a whole lot done but we did get a couple of minors items ticked off.
Summarizing:-
Trimmed the front of the bottom canopy frame rails where they were impacting the forward top skin
Trimmed the forward top skin each side where it was touching the front canopy hoop and being bent outward.
Made up a wooden floor for the space immediately behind the center section so I could work a little more comfortably.
Installed the nutplates for the aileron boots (that's the job that required Jackie's help).
Installed nutplates on the right-side fuselage bulkheads between the front and rear seats where I am putting a cover plate.
Made up a bracket for the 12VDC outlet and fitted to the cross-brace underneath the instrument panel on the right side (pictured).
Like I said, not a huge amount of work, but certainly got a few things out of the way. Those aileronn boot nutplates have been waiting for probably 9 months to a year or even more!
