Brief Description:  Rudder cable fairings, remote magnetometer bracket

Two tasks mostly completed this evening. Jackie removed and cleaned the F810 rearmost bulkhead and after doing so found signs of corrosion under the primer. I've rubbed it back, and I'm hoping a good dose of alodine and our DP40 epoxy primer will sort it. Fingers crossed.

Tonight we trimmed and fitted the rudder cable exit fairings from Avery (I think, can't actually remember). I've captured two rivets that go through the lower longeron and been able to clear the pre-punched hole for the adel clamp screw. We'll rivet them in place once the HS comes off. Of course, the rudder clevis won't go through the fairing, so I'm hoping that I never have to swap out the rudder cables, otherwise I'll be drilling that fairing off of there! I thought about using nutplates or whatever, but decided against the extra work for something that will hopefully never happen. Who knows, I might change my mind before I rivet them!

Next up I completed the bracket for the AF3400 remote magnetometer, which will sit across the top of the longerons and immediately behind the F809 bulkhead. I was just drilling for nutplates when it occurred to me that I should try to avoid using them, so I shall instead look at using brass screws and nuts; I guess some loctite will help prevent things rattling loose: I hope!

Finally, we removed all the bulkheads, dimpled and countersunk where we needed too, and are hopefully in a position to clean, alodine and prime a lot of these parts tomorrow morning before I head to the parachute club after lunch (work).
