Brief Description:  Throttle quadrant

Riveted nutplates to the auxilliary longerons for the mid-cabin cover screws; that was awkward. Then drilled out the holes in the throttle quadrant bracket for the cable anchor to #19, since I had forgotten before I primered it. Fitted the cable anchor. Fitted the throttle quadrant to the bracket. Removed the throttle quadant from the bracket. Fitted the bracket into the fuselage. Re-fitted the throttle quadrant. Tried to get the cover on. Removed the throttle quadrant. Put the cover on. Wondered how on earth I would put in the pulled rivets on the spar bulkead covers when the time came with that bracket right in the way. Decided to worry about that later. Also realised I still need to drill holes/slots in the center section bulkheads for the rear set throttle pushrod when I know exactly where it needs to go. And oh look, the hole will very likely go through the bracket as well. How am I going to do that when the time comes? Worry about that later too. Re-fitted the throttle quadrant. Found it wouldn't sit right because of a rivet in the cover. Removed the throttle quadrant. Relived the forward inside corner of the throttle quadrant where the rivet would go. Re-fitted the throttle quadrant. Found the flanges of the cover caused it to sit out from the bracket. Removed the bolts and put AN3-910 washers between the bracket and the mount and AN3-910L washers under the heads (to reduce damage to the primer). Hmm, slight gap there now. Ah well, think of a solution later; I'm sure this thing will come apart again one day before I'm done. Found the bolts no longer quite long enough for the nyloc on the low profile nuts to engage with those washers on. Ordered longer bolts (MS21083N3 / AN3-17A). Gave up for the night realising that this just wasn't going to be a productive building evening.
