Brief Description:  Rear Seat Throttle

Wow, that took longer than expected, and I'm still nowhere close to a finished install. I decided tonight I would completely hook up the front and rear throttle levers so I got all the linkages, etc correct.

The first thing I did was to make the pushrod per the instructions. I had previous cut the pushrod to length and primered it, so now I had to tape the ends ΒΌ"x28 UNF. Luckily, I had such taps and that was an easy job. I then assembled the rod-ends and clevis end to the correct length per the instructions, only to disover that you have to remove them again to get the pushrod into position. Even then you have to bend the aft center section bulkhead a little to push it in there.

I then fitted the UHMW strips to the rear seat throttle cutout. Even though they were positioned correctly, after riveting they must have moved a little as the low-friction guides were causing a considerable amount of friction. Out with the small file! Just about ok now, but will need just a tad more before I'm happy. Decided to move on to fitting the linkage.

Fitting the frotn seat throttle mount is a little tricky, but made easier after I decided to remove the top cover plate. I then found that I had to remove the linkage from the rear seat throttle to get the pushrod out of the way while I install the front throttle assembly. After I got in ob there, I then discovered that the pushrod cannot be connected because the holes in the bulkheads (cut per the supplied templates) do not line up properly. At this point I stopped work and tomorrow I shall have to relieve the holes as required (see photos) until I get a good installation.
