RV-8 fuselage. Since my A/C Spruce order arrived with some .063" sheet in it I was now able to fabricate the mounting plate for the Whelan strobe power supply... and here it is! I also riveted the angles to the longerons using AN426AD3-5s at the top (since the baggage bay shelf needs to sit flush on top on the longeron) and LP4-3 blind rivets on the bottom. I also riveted the K1000-08 nutplates to the bottom angle using MK319-BS blind rivets, but ran out so I can't rivet the top nutplates yet. Obviously the mounting plate itself needs to be primered and then have nutplates riveted to it.
I have to say I'm a little lost at the moment. So many things to do and its hard to see what needs doing in what order. I want to complete the aft fuselage but am also thinking about interior paint. I'm not sure I can leave it too much longer, but I don't want to be drilling holes and fitting things into painted surfaces unnecessarily. Nor do I want a massive masking job; it would be difficult enough now, let alone later on.
