Managed to get some time in the workshop again today. We might have made better progress except for having two soft rivets in a row while riveting the right side longeron. Not again! This happened on the left side. So why did two rivets make for such slow progress? Well, Jackie then mentioned they were a slightly different colour to the other ones that seemed harder. Really? Ahh, is there a dimple in the middle of those soft ones? No. Aw, nuts. Yep, somehow a load of non-structural soft rivets had mixed in with the normal ones. At which point the left side issues suddenly came to mind; all in all we had to remove about 27 rivets from the left side longeron. So, one step backwards and two forwards. We've now completed the rivetting to the aft F-810 bulkhead. I've made some shims for a couple of places on the left side that I'm not happy about and the primer is currently drying (slowly; its cold out). Tomorrow we'll try to complete the bery forward part of the longerons and F-807 bulkhead on each side, and fit the shims to the left side. If the shims improve matters, then I'll make a couple for the right-side. So, slowly but surely, we're getting there. Meanwhile I've been trying to get my head around electrics; and failing miserably, despite the good info provided by Bob Nucols in his Aeroelectric Connection... :-(
