I got the correct thickness replacement topskin sheet today (though I had to buy 12ft length which is a pain in the backside as I have no need for the extra). I used the .040" sheet as a cutting and drilling template, using the same method as before, and then cleco'd the .025" top skin to the fuselage. As you can see from the picture it is way oversize. and this is deliberate so that I can trim it after it is fully drilled. Although hard to see the forward lower corner alignment (both sides) is just right. The fit tothe bulkheads is also good, so I'm well happy. I now need Jackie's assistance to complete the drilling...
