Brief Description: Tom Clark fastback / ELT bracket
Spent over two hrs in the workshop but didn't really achieve much. Suffering a lack of focus and direction at the moment. I re-made the ELT brackets out of thinner angle because there was simply no way I could bend the thicker stuff to get the mounting plate to sit flat. I could have angled the lower bracket using "liquid shim" as I originally thought, but I wasn't happy that the rivets wouldn't then sit flat. So new brackets were the only real and correct solution. I also started 'flanging' the Tom Clark bulkheads so they would match the line of the top skin properly. The left side is pretty much done and I'll do the right side next time. We also cleaned the existing primer from the F809 and F808 bulkheads and will re-prime them with DP40 before riveting to the Vans bulkheads. When we remove the F807 and F810 bulkheads we'll do those too. I also noticed I shall need to completely remove the vertical *and* horizontal stabilizers since I cannot drill through the existing pre-punched holes in the aft deck flange into the F810 bulkhead with the HS forward spar in the way.
