Brief Description:  Right wing tip

... cont/d... You'll notice in the last picture on the previous post that the wing tip had been fitted with #6 nutplates. This took a little while, but was easy enough. AN426AD3-4.5s were used for most, though in a couple of places where the glass flange was thicker (at the ends mostly) I used -5s. And that is pretty much the right wing tip done. Almost. I dimpled the wing skin holes for #6 screws and fitted the wingtip to the wing, using 10 st-st screws on the top and 10 on the bottom (for now). I then fitted the lens and took the obligatory photo. Nice! Finally, I was going to knock it on the head for the day, but then decided I'd have a go at building up that trailing edge. I'm waiting for a burraway to arrive from Wicks aircraft so I can deburr the wing skin holes where the flap brace goes (since I cannot easily access both sides). Until then, I'm stuck. Since the package probably won't arrive until after Christmas now, I had time to kill. So the trailing edge was a good next job, since it can now set up for several days before I'm likely to touch it again. I taped a piece of plastic covered .025 to the underside, held in place with duct tape and then pushed up tight with a roller stand. Next I mixed up a good solid batch of West Systems epoxy with microspheres and filleted the corner. It's pretty thick, so I'm going to have to leave it for a good few days to set through properly. Hopefully, it will have done the trick and I can remove the metal plate without just breaking it all off again. Then I can sand it back to the correct radius. That's the plan anyway; I'll let you know some time after Christmas whether it worked or not. If I don't 'see' you before, then have a Merry Christmas :-)
