Just one pic tonight. Should have taken some in-progress shots but was just too warm and muggy in the hangar to play with the camera. Had a great two days of riveting, with plans to finish up tomorrow morning.
Joe Kollar (RV-9 Builder) helped me a great deal yesterday. I really enjoy the help of an experienced builder. The small things I pick up are really helping with my confidence and work throughput. Together we got our technique established on the two outboard ribs. Joe pounded while I drove the bucking bar.
I went back later today and knocked out two more ribs myself. It took a little bit of forethought and some manuvering on my part, but I was able to set the gun on the rivet and then extend my arm down to the tail for bucking. Worked really well actually. Had to stand on a steel tub to get high enough for this work.
Altogether a great two days at the airport. Oh, did I mention the RV-9 ride to Coshocton and Carroll County? :-))))
