Received a pneumatic sealant gun from E-Bay last week and put it to good use already. That thing makes life with pro-seal so much easier! Can't believe I waited to get one. Cost buying a used Model 250B was about $80 bucks.
This weekend I went back and added some sealant to the back-side of the drain VA-112 rivets, and I also tackled the fuell tank flange riveting & sealing. The fuel flange was quite challenging for me as I had a hard time seating the rivets well. I ended up drilling out two of them. Tank support was the primary factor, and not until after I was done did I consider putting the tank back into the cradle. That would have helped a great deal. Using my new sealant gun I managed to squeeze a good coat on both the skin and the flange, and then make a good fillet seal around the outside after riveting. I decided not to let the pro-seal set up for a day before riveting as I had to head back to work in DC the following morning. Altogether not too bad of an evening.
