Brief Description: Z-Brackets Primed, Mounted and T-705/710 ready to
Lots of piecemeal work lately as I head to the hangar for an hour or two at a time. After getting the kerosene and heater situation resolved, and then ordering the T-710 backing platee again (even though it turns out I had them already), I'm finally ready to fit up that inboard rib.
I plan to return from work on Friday and sand down those backing plates to fit. Then I must drill them out to match the L-Brackets.
As a progress move, I finished priming the Left Wing Z-Brackets while in VA last week. Those went on okay. I also had to rebuild R-7 (most outboard) Z-Bracket yesterday as the platenuts were just not lining up correctly. I tried to assemble the perfect Z-Bracket and came very close. Fit like a charm. I ordered the Z-Bracket Drill Guide from Van's as it was only 2 bucks. Not sure if I wasteed money or not as the drill guide does not take into account the Checkoway method of drilling.
So when I get back from DC on Friday I plan to sand down the backing plates to match the L-Brackets, and then drill them through using the L-Brackets as a guide.
