Brief Description:  Primed V.S. Skin & Finished H.S. Rivets

Rainy day in D.C. Perfect for working on the plane, keeping the Hangar nice and cool.

Goal was to introduce Jeremy to priming with the spray gun and Sherwin Williams primer. Went through all the steps and ended up with a primed Vertical Stabalizer Skin. Looks really good.

Also prepped remaining pieces for Vertical Stabalizer. Roughed 'em up with the gray Scotch Brite pads and cleaned with a dilluted solution of the Simple Green Pro. The aluminum dust is hard to get off. Will include some lacquer thinner next time to help. Must buy some more disposable gloves at Lowes.

Also finished some of the last rivets in the Horizontal Stabalizer. The inside rib called for AN470 AD4-7 and the end pieces HS-706 were AD4-4's. Using the pneumatic gun worked just great. Sill plan to pick up a manual squeezer next payday, along with the thin-nose yoke. For the leading edge rivets, having that thin yoke looks like just the trick.

Back to the hangar tomorrow. Must prime the remaining pieces, and maybe start cutting the stiffeners for the Rudder.
