Brief Description: Re-installed Elevators and installed connection.
I re-installed the Elevators onto the HS and installed the connecting bolt. It took many tries to line up the washers but I finally got it all together correctly. The plans call for a maximum of 3 shim washers per side, but I need 3 thick and one thin to properly shim the right hand Elevator. This was due to the poorly welded control horn. Not only was the horn welded in position 1/4" clockwise to the other one, but the horn was welded slightly more outboard then the left hand horn assembly. This was the only part in the entire tail kit that I can say didn't meet the same high standard and fit as all the others. The slight horn misalignment will not affect the functionality of the Elevators and there is still plenty of room for the control rod/bearing assembly to be installed at the end of the horns.
