Brief Description: Cleaned and primed elevator stiffeners.
I prepared and primed all the elevator stiffeners and the rivet lines on the inside of the elevator skins.
I modified my usual priming preparation procedure as follows;
1 Mark all parts with a Sharpie pen (I segregate all Lefts and Rights from this point on). 2 Use a Grey ScotchBright Pad to scuff up the surface and edges. 3 Wash all parts in warm soapy water, rinse then dry. 4 Use Lacquer Thinner to remove all pen marks and oil residues. (Keep left and rights separate!) 5 Spray a light coat of SW 988 Self Etching Primer and wait until dry. (15-20 minutes) 6 Spray a second light coat on. 7 Flip the parts and repeat from step number 5.
