I'd fabricated the tank brackets earlier, before I moved the project to the hangar. The hard part was getting the brackets bent correctly. I took them to work because they had a big vice mounted to a steel table. I knew I would need some pretty big hits to get them to bend. First day I whacked away and eyeballed the bend. Then took them to the hangar and checked my work. Not enough bend, then I saw the bend angle on the plans, 2.7 degrees. OK, back to work with a protractor to measure. Whacked away again and beat until the required 2.7 deg. Return to the hangar and they fit! Amazing! Marked and mounted and drilled the holes. They all came out great, good edge distance, bolts all fit, it was great. Mounted the nutplates and cut the required groove, perfect.
