I worked all day on the right wing tip. First, I installed the aileron and flap. Then, I worked to install the framework that surrounds the aileron spade. Photo 1 shows a problem. Murphy used the same ribs for the right and left wing. Consequently, on the right wing, the outboard rib is recessed and the left wing is flush with the edge of the wing skin. That reduced the overall length of the W-609 false spar. I needed to extend it to put the aft tip rib on with sufficient clearance for the aileron spade. Photo two shows the 3/4 inch extension. I anchored it six inches in and again at the outboard edge. Then, mid afternoon, I began to trim the wing tip and make the initial cuts. So far, it looks like it will fit with just a bit of up tip at the aft end. I may need to make a couple of cuts but nothing like the left wing tip.
