Brief Description: Wing and Tank Skin Installation
Today, I basically worked on more deburring, and then the access panels and doublers in the bottom wing skin. I cut the holes in the wing strut attach doubler, between ribs 7 and 8. I cut the 3.5 inch hole with a hole saw and drill, and the 4 3/4 inch hole in the doubler with a fly cutter in the drill press. I also installed the fuel/water drain in the bottom corner of the tank. I used a unibit step drill to drill out the 5/16" hole in the middle. Finally, I worked on two additional doublers/access panels (picture 3). One between 10-11 for the torque tube end bearing, and one between 6-7 for the torque tube middle hangar. CAUTION, these doublers have the hole offset. The wider edge goes near the spar. Every day, closer to the fuel tank proseal job and the final close up of the right wing.
