Brief Description: Wing and Tank Skin Installation
Today, I worked to complete the joint where the lower wing leading edge skin and the lower wing leading edge extension skin overlapped. I used two straps, and redrilled my holes from the other day. When it's apart, I'll flush rivet a stiffener under the rib flange because of the extra holes. Next, I worked to level the wing. I used a laser level that matched across the edge of the top skin. You can see the level in picture 3. I match drilled the rear spar, and used lots of clecos. I then re-checked the level and match drilled the main spar per the plans. When it was almost complete, I pulled the sand bags back to drill the holes under the bags. Tomorrow, I'll enlist the strongest men in the neigborhood to help me turn it over. With all the cleco's, it is becoming quite heavy.
