Brief Description:  Main Wing Spars

This morning, I put the left main wing spar back in the jig as it is completely primed and ready to go. I double checked all the surfaces on assembly, deburring a couple areas that were still rough to the touch. In addition, despite advice not to, I followed the plans and prosealed between the doublers and spar caps in the fuel tank area. I made this decision after successfully using proseal (actually A2 from Seal Pak -- it's thinner) on my rivet practice structure. I simply mixed up a small amount, and spread a thin layer across the spar doubler surface with a craft stick (popsicle stick). I then added cleco's to each hole to hold it firmly together,

In the afternoon, I practiced riveting some more, then began to rivet beginning on the outboard section of the wing spar. Initially, I planned to do it myself, but at my experience level, it's much easier to have my wife Ruth help with the bucking. Out of the first 20, I drilled three out, all due to smiles on the mfg head of the rivet. A few of the shop heads are not perfect, but I'll wait and have my EAA tech counselor look at them and tell me which ones to drill out.
