Today, I installed the intercylinder baffles on my Lycoming O-540. I had to undo the oil return lines, and let them hang down, and in three cases, I had to remove the exhaust to get the baffle in place. I used safety wire and a wooden dowel to lift the retainer up into the clip. Installing the baffles took four hours. Then, I worked on the cowling some more, putting it on and off several times. I riveted the NACA duct in place for the cabin heat and smoothed some areas out with body filler. Tomorrow, I'll be moving the fuselage into the garage to make room for painting.
