Brief Description:  Engine Runs

This morning, a local graphics shop, Hershel's Custom Graphics, came up and put on the decals on the side. Its a simple design with Folkerts Aircraft Works in the middle. In addition, another friend, Jim Saucier came up and helped me put the cowling and spinner on. In the afternoon, I pulled it outside and did three engine runs. One for 3 min at 1200 rpm. One at 3 min at 1400 rpm. And the final for 5 minutes at 1400 rpm, then quickly to full power, check parameters, cycle prop, and then back to 1000 for a minute. I let it cool approximately one hour between runs. The engine with its Chrome cylinders is now borken in. I used Pat Donovan's Tiny Tach for the engine runs since I'm waiting on the new rpm sensor.

Two minor issues -- an oil leak on the right side, near the valve covers. I'll pull the cowling and check tomorrow. Hopefully its just a oil line return or valve cover. I had pulled the oil return lines when I installed the intercylinder baffles. I also have a minor brake leak. I added some fluid, and will monitor. Its likely an o ring in the brake itself.
