Today, I worked to complete installation of the Skybolt brackets on the cowl halves. I removed each one, deburred, cleaned the edges on the 3M wheel, then primed and riveted in place. I used a large dome head AVEX rivet to get better grip on the fiberglass. Next, I installed the fasteners in the firewall grommets. Unfortunately, I misread the instructions and removed the clips before installing the fasteners. Consequently, I had to remove the cowling multiple times and adjust each one at a time. Lesson learned. READ more carefully.
