Today, I completed work on the cowling fastener system. I riveted the fastener body in place with a hand squeezer. I also worked on making nutplate fasteners for the cowling intakes. They are drilled and the metal backing is in place. I'll complete the nutplates tomorrow. Last, I installed grommets and bodies in all the cowling half brackets and completed the installation.
Now, quite a bit of fiberglass work left. The cowling was pretty rough directly from the manufacturer. I also measured clearance on the spinner again -- I should have 1/4 inch between the spinner and the cowling.
