Brief Description: Landing Gear Notching the legs for welding.
This put the "joint jigger" to the ultimate test. I needed to cut notches in the end of the gear leg at a fixed angle with a 1-1/2" bi metal hole saw. I wanted these cuts to be dead on as it will make the welding in this critical load area a bit easier. There really isn't any room for error in cuts like this so I made sure I had all my angles measured out. A problem with this kind of gear is once it's welded there is no way to make adjustments except using a torch and a mallet.
