Brief Description: Right Fuel Tank Leak Test 3 & Deluxe Fuel Cap
As predicted a pass at the third attempt. The level did go down about 1/2 an inch in the first hour but I put this down to the heat of the pumped air (bicycle pump) dropping. This theory was furthered by placing a hair dryer on the tank for 10 seconds and the level rose nearly 1".
I'm satisfied she's as leak proof as she's going to be.
One really satisfing thing is that there is no leak from the Deluxe Fuel Caps I bought - not from Vans but an Avery Tools dealer in a sale. The caps are Newton A30L - Locking and are far superior to the standard Vans cap.
Post note 2013 at 50 hours - No fuel leaks to date.
