Brief Description:  Cowl 21 - Priming 1

I will be flying before painting so I spoke to my painter (Mick Allen) and he advised me to prep the fibreglass as follows:

REMOVE MOULD RELEASE

Use green scotchbrite pads with plenty of standard thinners and wipe with paper towel before thinners evaporate.

SAND

Use 180 grit to key the glass and blow off with compressed air

FILLER/PRIMER 1

Mick approved me to use Max Meyer HS Filler 3011 5:1 (1.856.3011) and 8000 Hardener.

Use a roller (I used 2" initially as I had spare ones but will use 4" from now on) and work the primer into the glass. I used one batch for both cowls (286 gram/37 gram) but it was a bit tight for going off so next session will be two batches. The ratio is 5:1 by volume or 7.7 by weight (used scales).
