Brief Description: Baffles 4 - Trimming to Top Cowl
BAFFLE TO TOP COWL TRIM
I found the paper clip idea on VAF and it is so simple.
* eBay 200 x 50mm paperclips * TRIM 1. Top cowl sat about 2" high. Had to trim top cowl inlet ramps slightly to clear baffle around flywheel. Fitted paperclips placed on top cowl, pressed down and removed. Only a few paperclips had gone fully down. Marked down 3/4" from top of each clip and trimmed. *TRIM 2. Top cowl sat about 1.5" high. Fitted paperclips. Cowl on/off. Most but not all clips moved down. Marked down 1" and trimmed. * TRIM3. Top cowl sitting 3/4" high. Fitted paperclips and all paper clips moved down. Marked down 1 1/4" (3/4" for cowl gap and 1/2" for baffle/cowl gap). Cowl on/off ......
EUREKA 1/2" gap all round apart from oil cooler corner so some minor trimmimg there and done.
As the plans say be patient - expect this to take several sessions - and for me the paperclips made it so much easier.
