Problem: To get the gear leg fairing trailing edge to fit really well I ended up with gear leg fairings that are slightly narrower than the plans. When I added the excellent Fairings Etc Upper Intersection Fairing I could see the result was not pleasing and was very gappy
Solution: Session 1 * 0.025" aluminium strip taped toinboard section of leg where the open slit is * Shiny packing tape on the gear leg fairing to stop the extension sticking. * 2 x wide tape first then slide Int fairing over it to join the two whilst both wet * 4 x narrow tape to build up extension
Session 2 * When set I used a rotary tool with cut off wheel to cut slit on the extension * Removed fairing from gear leg * Micro mix to fair in
