I followed the plans for the wheel pants and so far so good. They are not yet complete and until I have evrything fitting well I have only drilled the two half joining holes to #40.
I used a laser level device to obtain a good level (the photo shows the desired line and when I took it the laser was a bit too low the final set up was spot on).
I am fititng the larger tyres 15 x 6 x 5 (380x150x5) with the plans 1" gap at the top. The net result is that the pant is higher than normal and is contacting part of the brake caliper/bolt head/bleed valve. This is common on the RV8 with this tyre. You can see from the yellow arrow in image two that the contact is distorting the pant - hence not final drilling the two halves.
