Brief Description:  Wing Tips 2

5. Some use a foam rib to keep the tip rigid but in one of my rare moments of originality I thought of using a sucker and my sat nav mount was used to lift the tip whilst driling. I drilled #40 first, fitted the rib and then final drilled the remaining holes to #27 for the #6 screws.

6. Way back in the build I bought two Zero Flute Countersinks because some one advised them for countersinking the fibreglass as they are virtually chatter free. All I can say is that they worked a treat, cut really smooth and after doing all the holes in the tips I have not had cuase to use the second one yet. In the UK you can get them from LAS and in the USA from Aircraft Tool Supply . I finished the holes with a normal countersink and am very pleased with th results.

7. Trimmed the aileron gap to 1/4" as DWG 9A and sanded the trailing edge flush with the aileron.

All that is left to do is fair the leading edge with the wing leading edge and prepare the tip for the painter.
