Brief Description:  Air Race Championship (ARC) Lisbon - Pt1 - Transit

Due to weather forcasts I decided to fly to Sandown on Sat 25 June to then meet up with Sport 46 (James Stringer) at Cherbourg the following day.

Sunday flights to Biarritz were uneventful apart from one bizarre incident. We were refuelling at Biarritz when we were distracted by the Gendarme wishing to see our documenation and a French Robin that had joined the back of our queue. After filling up I taxied to the apron parking slot only to smell fuel; I looked out at the left wing to find I had left my fuel cap off. Long story short - despite help of both Gendarme, the handlers and James we could not find the fuel cap - totally bizarre.

Taped up the hole and discovered the next day that 140 Kts IAS was OK but it started to balloon a lot at 150 kts. Refuelled in Braganca were the weather ws beautiful. Then onward to Ponte De Sor for some R&R.
