Prior to the Abbeville race we flew to Guernsey mainly to give Jill a break from looking after her ailing mother. We had visited before two years earlier and we were impressed with the island and it food. We wern't disapointed the second time round either!
We spenta day at Castle Cornet enjoying a Midday Gun friring, modern interview with a Victorian Guernsey business man who developed Puerto Rico (great acting) and a vist to the onsite 210 Sqn museum.
On our final eveing at the excellent Duke of Richmond hotel we were surprised to find a cake left by the staff wishing us luck at the Abbeville race - wonderful touch!
