Brief Description:  Attaching rear edge hinges to cowl

Vans recommends that hinges attached to the cowls need to be glued as well as riveted. They also recommend drilling additional holes to help secure the hinge. I drilled the holes and countersunk them so that the epoxy resin could hold onto the hinge. I used the shim technique to straighten the hinges during riveting. I used a loose piece of hinge to shim against. I used West System epoxy to attach the hinges. I applied the epoxy and clecoed the hinges. I made sure that the epoxy forced up through attachment holes and squeezed the rivets. I used the shims to keep play out of the hinge pin during this process. I did this for both bottom hinges and side hinges. I cleaned up the excess epoxy before it dried. I checked the fit of the hinges at the completion of this. All hinge pins are easily added and removed.
