Brief Description:  Throttle assembly re-install

In order to get a good look at where the parking brake might fit mounted through the left gear tower, I need to fist re-install the throttle assembly to get a sense of where that will be. That meant I had to locate the painted aluminum parts as well as the throttle assembly and then put it all back together, mount it up and take a look. The plan would be to have the parking brake in an area that is visible by the pilot and part of the pre-flight check. I originally thought of mounting it in the gear tower right in front of where the throttle would be when it went forward. My thought at the time was that it would be in the way of the advanced throttle and would look “off” to the eye If I were sitting in the airplane, engine running and planning to advance the throttle with the parking brake still set. In fact, I see in the picture, that the piece of blue tape I put there as a mark is still there… Up that high it would be more difficult to install and maintain – but it would be out of the way. If I put it on the lower side of the gear tower it would be easier to install and to get to for maintenance, but would also be more in the way of the other stuff in the tower. I have the gear bolt retainers so I will be mounting my landing gear bolts in the down position and will be able to torque the nuts at each annual from under the airplane – so that helps to keep my hands out of the gear towers. I need to see where these brake lines are going to be when I re-do them and if they will be in the way…
